2022 Royal MCJROTC Awards

The Royal JROTC program is in its 7th year and has been extremely successful this school term. The cadets have accomplished a lot as a team and received numerous accolades for their hard work, community service, and commitment. The cadets are ever so present in the community when called upon to perform color guard details, as escorts, food bank assistance, campus volunteers with athletics, and on several other occasions we have accepted the call of duty within our community.
Royal High MCJROTC Designated as a Naval Honor School

Royal High School, Marine Corps Junior ROTC has been designated a Naval Honor School as of August 1, 2022, marking the second year in a row that the MCJROTC at Royal ISD has received this honor. The selection is based on several criteria, including the number of cadets active in school activities and clubs, the number of community service hours for the unit as a whole and per cadet, the number of organizations assisted by the unit, and scholastic achievements including the number of academic awards and scholarships given to cadets. The units are also measured by participation in public affairs events, community service, drill/color guard team competitions, marksmanship competitions, academic competitions, leadership camps, physical fitness team competitions, and field trips.
Royal MCJROTC defeats Natchitoches Central AJROTC

Royal MCJROTC defeated Natchitoches Central AJROTC 935.1 to 822.8 in the National Air Rifle League. Royal MCJROTC was led by Diego Martinez who shot a 236.8. The remaining contributing members were Jesus Morales, Nathan Covington, and Jenna Johnson. They are from Pattison, TX, and are coached by LaShan Bland. Royal MCJROTC is competing in the Distinguished Division where they are currently ranked in forty-first place. Within the Marine Corps JROTC Conference they are in eighth place. They have a 2 – 4 record.
